e., a few seconds after initiating co-precipitation. In addition to the timing of growth quenching, the effect of temperature and dextran present during co-precipitation on the final particle size was investigated. This approach differs from small IONP syntheses in batch utilising either growth inhibitors (which likely leads to impurities) or high temperature methods in organic solvents. Furthermore, this continuous synthesis enables the low-cost ( less then £10 per g) and large-scale production of highly stable small IONPs without the use of toxic reagents. The flow-synthesised small IONPs showed high T1 contrast enhancement, with transversal relaxivity (r2) reduced to 20.5 mM-1 s-1 and longitudinal relaxivity (r1) higher than 10 mM-1 s-1, which is among the highest values reported for water-based IONP synthesis. In this paper we use computer simulations to examine point defects in systems of “soft” colloidal particles including Hertzian spheres, and star polymers. We use Monte Carlo simulations to determine the deformation of the different crystals associated with vacancies and interstitials and use thermodynamic integration to predict the equilibrium concentrations of such defects. We find that the nature of the lattice distortion is mainly determined by the crystal structure and not by the specifics of the interaction potential. We can distinguish one-, two-, and three-dimensional lattice distortions and find that the range of the distortion generally depends on the dimensionality. We find that in both model systems the deformation of the body-centered cubic (BCC) crystal caused by an interstitial is one-dimensional and we show that its structure is well described as a crowdion. Similarly, we show that the one-dimensional deformation of the hexagonal (H) crystal of Hertzian spheres caused by a vacancy can be characterized as a voidion. Interestingly, with the exception of the FCC crystal in the Hertzian sphere model, in all cases we find that the interstitial concentration is higher than the vacancy concentration. Most noteworthy, the concentration of interstitials in the BCC crystals can reach up to 1%.Use of nanoscale materials is a promising desalination technology. While fast water flow in nanotubes is well understood, this is not the case for water permeability in single-layer membranes. Epacadostat The advances in nanofluidics have opened up the possibility to shift the permeability-selectivity tradeoff. The physical-chemical balance between nanopore size, shape, and charge might be the answer. In this work, we investigate the role of the MoS2 nanopore charge distribution in water mobility by tuning its strength. We shed light on the competition between charge and nanopore size. The strong dipole interaction between water and the MoS2 nanopore is responsible for adding a constraint to the water angular orientation possibilities to travel through the nanopore, but this effect also depends on the nanopore size. The formation of a two-phase surface molecular overlayer that transitions from isolated propene molecules to a highly ordered 1D chain structure on Cu(111) is elucidated through combined high-resolution STM imaging and DFT-based calculations. These models reveal how disordered molecules present in-between the 1D chains stabilizes the system as a whole.
Influenza vaccination rates among adults over 65 years have not reached the minimum levels recommended by the health authorities in Asturias during previous vaccination campaigns. The objective of this study is to describe the characteristics of an influenza vaccination strategy and its effectiveness.
Strategy developed during the 2019-2020 influenza vaccination campaign in the Área Sanitaria VII in the Servicio de Salud of the Principado de Asturias. The target population were people over 65 years. The strategy consisted of training sessions for professionals and the general population, information dissemination through the media, overt recommendations for the vaccination of hospital personnel and social recognition of the professionals involved. The vaccination rates were described and a two-tailed hypothesis test was used to determine the differences in the vaccination percentages.
The percentage of vaccination in the Área Sanitaria VII went from 56.29% in the 2018-2019 campaign to 65.82% in the 2019-2020 campaign (+9.53; p<0.001). During the same campaign, the percentage of vaccination in Asturias was 57,38%, that is, 8,44% less than in the intervened Área Sanitaria.
The strategy proved effective in increasing the rates of influenza vaccination among adults over 65 years in the Área Sanitaria VII of the Principado de Asturias.

Buprenorphine is a gold standard treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD). Some US states have passed laws regulating office-based buprenorphine treatment (OBBT) for OUD, with requirements beyond those required in federal law. We sought to identify themes in state OBBT laws.
Using search terms related to medications for OUD, we searched Westlaw software for state regulations and statutes in 51 US jurisdictions from 2005 to 2019. We identified and inductively analyzed OBBT laws for themes.
Since 2005, 10 states have passed a total of 181 OBBT laws. We identified the following themes (1) provider credentials state licensure for OBBT providers and continuing medical education requirements; (2) new patients objective symptoms patients must have before receiving OBBT and exceptions for special populations; (3) educating patients general informed consent requirements, and specific information to provide; (4) counseling minimum counselor credentials, minimum counseling frequency, counseling alternatives; (5) paatment laws, which could facilitate empirical examination of policy impacts on treatment access and quality.State policies play a critical role in determining health care delivery, health equity, and health outcomes, but vary widely in scope, target, restrictiveness, and goals. Understanding how such policies impact health care is critical to development of evidence-based policies, but difficult in the absence of organized and standardized approaches to analysis. Development of themes and frameworks for analysis, and identification of policies supported by evidence, are important steps in moving toward more rational and aligned policies. Buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder provides a good example and methodological foundation. At the same time, state policies are promulgated within a larger policy, treatment, and socio-economic environment, and these influences must be considered as well.
